Studying Abroad in Brazil is available in a variety of different forms.

Brazil Overview

Originally colonized by Portugal, Brazil is by far the largest country in South America. It is a country diverse in culture, landscape, and style. The country is covered by dense Amazon rainforest in the north and central regions. The coastal regions of Brazil offer some of the most famous and beautiful beaches in the world. Each city in Brazil has its own unique character ranging from the modern capital of Brasilia to the tourist capital of Rio de Janeiro to the port city of Maceio. Portuguese is the language spoken in Brazil.

Amazon Jungle Known for eco-tourism with many varieties of flora and fauna not found in other parts of the world. Many choose to take riverboat cruises or stay in jungle lodges to see the Amazon.

Iguazu Falls In dense jungle where Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina meet, these waterfalls may be the most spectacular on the planet.

Carnival Although Rio de Janeiro is best known for its Carnival celebration, most Brazilian towns do have spectacular festivities. The celebrations take place right before the start of Lent.
