The largest of the Honduran port towns (population 80,000), La Ceiba is located on the Northern Caribbean at the foot of the towering 5000-foot Pico Bonito, Honduras’ largest national park. It has excellent access to the Bay Islands (20 minutes by plane) and is known as the 'fun city' of Honduras thanks to movies, dancing, and restaurants. With beaches, nearby Garifuna villages, Pico Bonito, and a small airport, La Ceiba is increasingly becoming discovered by tourists and eco-tourists.
