Learning Spanish abroad in Salamanca, Spain is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals and castles are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars. Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.
Learn Spanish Language in Spain:
Known as “La Dorada,” or Golden City, for the glow of its sandstone buildings. It is one of the 5 Spanish cities declared by UNESCO as a “Mankind Heritage” site. The world's second oldest university is here, boasting a student population of 30,000 (5,000 of whom are foreigners) that provides a lively atmosphere and nightlife. Enjoy concerts, lectures, and theater, or congregate in the famous Plaza Mayor.
School Facilities:
Large, historical, renovated building. It hosted the "College of Medicine" until the 16th Century. 30+ classrooms, renaissance patio, garden, cafeteria, lecture room, computer room with Internet access. 5 minute walk to Plaza Mayor. Capacity is 250 students/day (more during summer).
Participants:
Mainly from Northern Europe and North America. Wide age range with average age 26.
Accreditation Memberships:
Member of FIYTO, BELTA, NAFSA, ALTO, UNIÓN LATINA, AEEM, AMACFE & AECAE. Qualified by the CEELE (Certificate of teaching of Spanish as a foreign language). Accredited by the Instituto Cervantes, Spanish Chamber of Commerce, the Swedish CSN and the German BILDUNGSURLAUB. Approved for academic credit by several US Institutions including Brookhaven College

Pick-up from airport in Madrid, about 2 hours by car from Salamanca.
Program Additions & Upgrades:
* Private room upgrade: Add $15/wk for homestay, add $55k for dorm or add $35/wk for apartment.
* Extra lodging nights (max 3): $60/night for homestay, dorm or apartment.
* Private classes: $365 for the first 5 hours, then $55/hour (minimum 5 hrs/week)
