History of SALUD Medical Program
AmeriSpan’s SALUD program dates back to the year 2000. At that time, an AMSA (American Medical Student Association) member from Ohio contacted us with a special request to design a
program geared for med students. The result: 20 medical students from 8 different states participated in
our first SALUD program in Ecuador. Since its inception, over
800 healthcare students and professionals from 47 US States and
5 additional countries (Australia, Canada, Germany,
N. Ireland, and the United Kingdom) have participated.
