Learning Spanish abroad in Tenerife, Spain is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals and castles are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars. Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.
Learn Spanish Language in Spain:
Tenerife, a Spanish island, is the largest of the seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. Tenerife is the most populated in the archipelago. The capital city, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is as well as the second biggest city in the archipielago, the capital of the island and seat of the island government (cabildo insular).
Puerto de la Cruz is the second largest tourist city on the island with accommodtion for around 30,000 tourists. In contrast with the modern resorts of the south, El Puerto has had a great tradition as a place of relaxation since the end of the last century when the spa, which today is the Hotel Casino Tauro, was built. The accommodation offered in Puerto de la Cruz is also different from most of the other places in the islands since hotels predominate over apartments.
School Facilities:
Located in Puerto de la Cruz, the second largest city of the island of Tenerife the school is housed in a traditional building located within walking distance to the beach. It has 7 classrooms, a patio, a terrace, teacher's room, reception and a common area where books and videos are available. A casual environment with a capacity of 130 students/day.
Participants:
Mostly Germans and Scandianvians. Average ages 25-35.

Airport Pickup: $170
Airport Pickup Comments:
There are two airport in Tenerife, Tenerife Sur (airport code TFS) and Tenerife Norte (airport code TFN). Most participants will use Tenerife Sur (additional cost $170) as Norte is not widely known, is much smaller and handles less passenger/flight volume. Cost of airport pickup from Tenerife Norte is $100.

* Private classes: $435 for the first 5 hours, then $60/hour
