Learning Spanish abroad in Playa del Carmen, Mexico is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Diversity is the word that best describes Mexico’s people and geography. Over 50 different indigenous groups, each with its own language, comprise 28% of Mexico’s 83 million inhabitants. Divided by the Tropic of Cancer into the temperate North and the tropical South, the country boasts snow-capped volcanoes, jungle clad beaches, deserts, archeological ruins, modern cities, upscale resorts, and isolated villages.

Playa del Carmen is located in the center of Mexico's Riviera Maya, at the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a small town still maintaining some of its charms of its former existence as a fishing village. Playa del Carmen is known for its beautiful white sand beaches surrounded by the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. This location is also close to the fascinating Mayan ruins like Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza and Chaak tun Cave. Playa del Carmen is only 45 min. away from Cancun and a one-hour ferry away from Cozumel Island. Those with an interest in snorkeling, diving, windsurfing, kitesurfing or just relaxing on the beach will find the area especially wonderful.
School Facilities:
Located just six blocks from the beach, this school has traditional Mexican flair. The campus offers several covered outdoor classrooms, a cafeteria, volleyball court, garden area, and air-conditioned meeting facilities. The open aire and air-conditioned conference rooms are ideal for guitar and salsa classes, and weekly gatherings. Capacity is 100 students/day.

Additional campus in Puerto Vallarta (on the west coast of Mexico). Accommodations with homestays. You can sign up for the Puerto Vallarta campus when registering. Onsite changes usually require 2 weeks notice, $50 charge, and are based on availability.
