The town itself is called Quepos, but the area closer to the national park shares the park’s name. Once a thriving fishing port, Quepos and Manuel Antonio now survive on the growing number of tourists that the national park attracts. The national park is both a beach and a forest where one can spot a wide variety of wildlife. Common fauna include white faced monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and other wildlife. Even when the park is crowded with tourists, one can go a bit off of the beaten path to find a private piece of paradise. The town is full of restaurants and hotels.
