Past Volunteer Participants
Elizabeth (Beth) S., Teacher
Dates Studied: 7/6/2009 - 7/24/2009 Country: Tanzania I think you have a great program in place. In the end, the trip was more than I expected. I learned so much about the country, the people, and the school system. The host family is overwhelmingly friendly, the volunteer accommodations are nice, there are many ways to help at both the orphanage and school, and the area is generally safe t obe in as a traveling American.

Dates Studied: 1/21/2008 - 2/8/2008 Country: Argentina Balancing [my] professional objectives in the context of The Farm School with my own life and a new family proved to be a great challenge, but an eye-opening and very rewarding experience that I will never forget. I continue to keep in contact with my family there.
Kevin T., Unemployed
Dates Studied: 1/21/2008 - 2/8/2008 Country: Argentina With a time crunch, the logistics ran very smoothly. The bet part was learning about the culture, both personally and professionally.
Jillian A., Social Worker
Dates Studied: 10/1/2007 - 11/9/2007 Country: Peru AmeriSpan had the cheapest prices and there seemed to be a lot of variety in the field where I wanted to do some volunteer work.
Liseanne K., Attorney
Dates Studied: 10/8/2007 - 11/2/2007 Country: Guatemala The staff was incredibly professional and helpful. I was extremely impressed. AmeriSpan was great at getting everything set up in a short amount of time.

Dates Studied: 6/11/2007 - 8/3/2007 Country: Bolivia Choosing this trip has been one of the best decisions I could have made. Running across AmeriSpan on the internet is something I consider to be the best of luck. The main advice I could give to future participants is to be open. There are so many interesting things you can learn if you are only open to learning.

Sarah W., Probation Officer
Dates Studied: 4/16/2007 - 5/11/2007 Country: Bolivia I loved this placement-fantastic!! I did not use BETA or EMS but it was reassuring to know it existed. Pre departure info and phone interview was motivational, friendly, and I felt prepared for the classes and the project.
Sophiane C., Student/Sales Rep
Dates Studied: 2/5/2007 - 3/2/2007 Country: Bolivia The best part of my trip was the family I lived with and the friends I have made. The phone interview and information given was acceptable and gave me enough confidence to go on my own and look forward to the experience ahead.
Marissa B., Student
