Placement Options
Part-time Volunteer (volunteer while studying)
If your schedule is tight and you are looking to volunteer a few days a week before or after classes, this is the best option for you. You choose a broad category of the type of placement you desire and will be informed of your placement upon arriving in the country. You'll need to be in-country for a minimum for 2-4 weeks. The application process is simple.
Full-time Volunteer (volunteer after completing classes)
This is our most popular option because it offers a full immersion experience. You will spend a minimum of 6 weeks in the country (2 weeks for classes and 4 weeks volunteering full-time). You are able to select which placement you want and everything is confirmed prior to arriving in the country.
Volunteer Only (no required language classes)
If you already possess good language skills and/or are familiar with the country, you may be eligible for a volunteer placement without taking any language classes. The minimum time for one of these placements is 2-4 weeks depending on the location and desired placement. You select the placement you wish to be placed in and everything is confirmed prior to arriving in the country.
Internships (may be required to take language classes depending on location)
Our internships are unpaid although a few offer free language classes or free lodging. You are usually required to take a minimum of 4-12 weeks of language classes before starting the internship. Internships are highly customized and are sometimes available prior to arriving in the country. Some internships will require an interview with the hosting organization after you arrive in the country to finalize the placement.
