My Fundraising Story - Dhara Kinariwala
My name is Dhara Kinariwala, and I am currently a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University, dual-majoring in International Studies: Global Perspective on Healthcare and Biology. Next fall, I will be attending medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. This AmeriSpan program will train me to become a more knowledgeable, Spanish-speaking physician.
This summer, I have the unique opportunity to study medical Spanish and to shadow physicians in the Dominican Republic. I will be traveling from June 25-July 10. This unique program will teach me medical Spanish and educate me about the particular needs of Spanish-speaking and underserved communities. I want to attend this program so that when I enter the medical field, five years from now, I can be a more well-rounded, knowledgeable physician. Because of my previous travels to Honduras, Ghana, and India, I have developed a genuine interest in the healthcare needs of our international community. As a doctor, I want to become a primary care physician serving the needs of the rural, urban, and underserved regions of the US and internationally.
I am currently fundraising for my study abroad program, and I would like to request financial support from you! I promise that your financial contribution will one day allow me to give back to my local community and to worldwide healthcare needs.
