Honduras Travel Alert

AmeriSpan Study Abroad has been in consistent communication with our partner schools in Honduras and all participants and programs in Honduras have been unaffected.  The onsite administration has ensured that all U.S. participants have registered with the U.S. Embassy in Honduras as recommended by the State Department. 

To the best of our knowledge major airline carriers are still operating scheduled flights into Honduras as usual, as Honduras’ borders remain open, and the airports remain open for regularly scheduled flights.  Should you continue with your travel plans please contact the airline ahead of time for up to date information and schedule changes.

First, let’s be clear: you should not go to Honduras if you are overly anxious about these issues. When studying abroad, you will encounter different challenges and cultural adjustments.  You always want to pick a destination where you feel comfortable so you can minimize the anxiety and maximize the educational and fun elements of the program.  AmeriSpan Study Abroad's knowledgeable and well traveled staff is here to help advise on alternative program locations if needed and we will waive our change fee if you decide to postpone/delay your program or change your destination.

There are no “Travel Warnings” to Honduras but there is a travel alert.
