Ricky Martin
To truly appreciate the Ricky Martin sensation, you must listen to his last all-Spanish CD: Vuelve. It was released in 1998, and contains the song "La Copa de la Vida" (The Cup of Life) from the 1998 World Cup tournament that brought Ricky into the spotlight with English speaking audiences. I think his last Spanish album is one of the best though! There are slow, love songs like, Perdido sin Ti and the title track Vuelve that are so good it doesn't matter if you speak Spanish. When he performed Vuelve in concert, my friend who doesn't speak any Spanish said that it was still one of the most beautiful songs they had heard. I personally think the big hits of the album are the ones that make you get up and dance though - and there are a lot of those! Now that Ricky Martin is a household name, it's a good time to go back and see where he started.
