Russia Internship Placement

This opportunity places you in the orphan's ward of the state hospital, operating since 1933. The ward treats children up to 14 years old, and provides them with a unique luxury to receive quality medical treatment.

Interns will work as assistants to the pediatricians, providing administrative and clinical support to all medical staff. Participants will aid in medical examinations, which may include preparing the patient, observing, and establishing diagnosis. All interns will participate in clinical research, treat patients, and provide daily nursing. In addition, you may be asked to perform injections, explain treatment procedures to patients, instruct about medications and special diets, and administer medications.

Work Schedule: 30 hours per week.

Location of Placements: Moscow

Lodging: Homestay with private room and 2 meals or private room in shared apartment with no meals during class. Apartment with no meals during placement.


Requirements:
  • Minimum age: 21 years.
  • Minimum commitment: 1 weeks.
  • Minimum Russian level: High-Intermediate
  • Professional or higher medical education (preferably general therapist)
  • Tuberculosis screening
  • HIV test certificate
  • Diphtheria and Hepatitis certificates
  • Venereological and dermatological testing

Important Things to Consider:
  • Medical working experience is preferred, but not required.
  • The hospital reserves the right to examine all volunteers upon arrival, and administer additional vaccinations if necessary.
  • Please apply at least 3 months in advance.
