This organization was founded and is funded by a group of professional women to provide support and counseling for women with a variety of problems who are in jail for various reasons such as drug trafficking, murder, theft and kidnapping. The organization provides a variety of services: counseling, rehabilitation and day care.
Depends on skills and experience. Tasks may include: administrative work, direct support of counselors, day care assistant, companion to the prisoners.
Work Schedule: Varies
Location of Placements: Quito
Lodging: Hostal (shared room, no meals). Homestay available at extra cost.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: High-Intermediate
- Related experience.
Important Things to Consider:
- Volunteer's responsibilities may involve a fair amount of administrative as opposed to "hands on" work.
