A privately funded art museum located in the commercial part of Quito. It promotes understanding and knowledge of modern art, mainly exhibits works by Guayasamin and Kingman. There is also a section displaying traditional items. Guided tours are offered as well as art related lectures.
Artists may give art classes to children and adults. Others should be able to talk about art to children and encourage their participation in museum activities. Translators are needed for correspondence and logging from guest book. Also, help is needed in recruiting and training local volunteers.
Work Schedule: Varies, but generally during museum hours.
Location of Placements: Quito
Lodging: Hostal (shared room, no meals). Homestay available at extra cost.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: High-Intermediate
- Related experience or knowledge.
- Experience teaching children preferred.
