The mission of this organization is to provide care, support and encouragement to children who lack care and attention at home. The organization provides this support in a safe, respectful, integrated atmosphere and attempts to meet all bio-social needs of the children. It also serves parents by providing occupational training and programs to promote self confidence.
Volunteers assist with all aspects of the program, including day care, teaching English, basic healthcare, values formation, recreation, medical services, counseling, etc.
Work Schedule: Varies. Usually 5 hours/day Monday through Friday.
Location of Placements: Quito
Lodging: Hostal (shared room, no meals). Homestay available at extra cost.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Low-Intermediate
- Related experience (teaching, social work, medicine, etc).
- Ability to work independently.
