Non-profit civil organization dedicated to the protection of human rights with special focus on women, children, consumers and citizens’ rights. This organization was created in 1932, and since 1996 it has been working with abused women and children. It is located in La Boca neighborhood, which has a large population of lower class people.
Volunteers will participate in different activities such as research projects, work with abused children and women and other civil rights projects. Currently, only those with relevant professions are accepted.
Work Schedule: Varies. Generally volunteers work about 4-6 hours/day.
Location of Placements: La Boca (neighborhood of BA, 20 min by bus from school).
Lodging: Student Apartment
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 8 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Mid-Intermediate
- Related education and experience, such as Law, Social work, Psychology.
- Experience with marginalized communities and organizations.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 6.
