Learning Spanish abroad in Cancun, Mexico is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Diversity is the word that best describes Mexico’s people and geography. Over 50 different indigenous groups, each with its own language, comprise 28% of Mexico’s 83 million inhabitants. Divided by the Tropic of Cancer into the temperate North and the tropical South, the country boasts snow-capped volcanoes, jungle clad beaches, deserts, archeological ruins, modern cities, upscale resorts, and isolated villages.
Learn Spanish Language in Mexico:
Cancun is located at the southeastern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. The area was planned and built in the 1970’s by the Mexican government for the purpose of attracting tourists. This was due in part to the miles of white sand beaches surrounded by the warm, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. In addition to an abundance of water sports and nightlife, there are also several fascinating Mayan sites within a 2-hour drive.
School Facilities:
In Ciudad Cancun, not in the main tourist area (i.e students are able to experience genuine Mexican culture). Buses to the tourist zone leave every 5 minutes. Classrooms with fans. The terrace is common space where a complimentary breakfast is offered, and sodas/snacks for sale. Capacity is 70 students/day.
Participants:
Mostly Europeans, some Americans. Average age 20-35.
