Additional Travel InsuranceOverviewAmeriSpan participants who are participating in a teenager program, SALUD, volunteer/intern or on one of our Academic Semester Programs are eligible for free travel insurance. In order to be eligible, participants must be a resident of the United States and register for their program at least 4 weeks prior to their start date. This program covers participants while on their program up to a maximum of 6 months. This plan provides secondary coverage for some basic medical expenses. You can protect yourself with trip cancellation insurance. AmeriSpan recommends CSA Travel Protection for these type of insurance products.Major Medical & More Comprehensive Travel InsuranceIf you are enrolling less than 4 weeks prior to your program's start date, staying longer than 6 months, do not have a comprehensive primary health plan or just want to make sure you have sufficient coverage, you may want to purchase additional medical insurance.
