FOREIGN CURRENCY GUARANTEE
Overview
AmeriSpan lists all program prices in
one currency (US dollars) so our clients
can easily compare similar programs in
different countries. Each year, we
set our US dollar prices based on the
average currency exchange rate compared with
the US dollar. Because the US
Dollar exchange rate has had unusually
high fluctuations, we have the
"AmeriSpan's Foreign Currency
Guarantee". This guarantee applies
to our language programs in Europe and
Asia.
How To Invoke the Foreign
Currency Guarantee
When
registering for a standard Language Program in Europe or Asia simply note
"currency guarantee" and we will adjust the cost to today's currency rate.
How We Calculate New Price
- Adjust Local Currency Price
- We need to convert
to a US dollar price. We use Oanda.com
to find the highest daily median $/foreign
currency rate during the previous 2
weeks.
Then we take this foreign currency
rate and
divide it by the $/euro exchange
rate. Then multiply this price
by 1.05. We add 5% because the
median exchange rate is not
obtainable in the real world unless
the amounts are in the millions.
For example, when exchanging Dollars
for Euros, you will pay a minimum
of 3-5% (if you don't believe us,
contact your local bank or a local
American Express travel
office).
- Compare the two
prices - if AmeriSpan's
published price is
higher than this new price then we
adjust your price.
Notes & Rules
- Only When Registering - To
initiate the Foreign Currency
Guarantee, you must tell us when you
register.
- One Time Only - We
calculate the price when we receive
your application and it is a
courtesy. We will not be
changing your price every time
currency changes.
- Standard Language Programs
Only - this guarantee is
only valid for standard Language
Programs. All other program
types (including fun programs) are
excluded from this guarantee.
