Teacher & Educator Spanish Program FAQ

Do I need to know Spanish to participate?

You must have at least a high-beginner level of Spanish in order to participate in the MAESTRO for non-Spanish teachers. If you have not previously studied Spanish or are very rusty, you should enroll in the Working Spanish Online course OR plan to study in-country for at least two weeks prior to MAESTRO start date.
Participants in MAESTRO for Spanish teachers are expected to have at least an intermediate level of Spanish.

How can I earn professional development credits aka CEUs?

Some past participants were able to earn CEUs for their participation in the Maestro program.  However, since regulations on credits vary in each state and school district, check with your state's department of education and an administrator in your school district to see if you are eligible.
