House of Commons Research Assistant United Kingdom Internship Placement

This internship places you in the House of Commons, the lower house of Parliament in the United Kingdom. The upper house is composed of the Sovereign and House of Lords. All houses meet at the Palace of Westminster.
A large portion of this internship would involve administrative tasks, such as receiving mail, issuing acknowledgments, making copies, responding to invitations, creating journal entries, and writing summaries of incoming letters. In time, interns will become more involved in the House of Commons, summarizing constituency cases and performing research, regarding current issues in Parliament.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:30.
Location of Placements: London
Lodging: Shared Apartment
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 8 weeks.
- Minimum English level: Advanced
- Criminal background check.
- Letter of recommendation from intern's university
- Only current Full-time university students or graduated within last six months. Need to provide proof that you were a FT student last semester
- US citizens need a special UK working permit (BUNAC Blue Card). Fees include this and AmeriSpan assists with this process.
- Enthusiasm, organization skills, and time management.
