Conservation Project Tanzania Volunteer Placement

Tanzania's forest ecosystem is currently battling the threat of deforestation, which has been rapidly increasing, due to the growing demand for energy. Local governments are urging community organizations and individuals alike to conserve the ecosystem, in efforts to save the scarce land and water.
Volunteers will most likely be working in the nursery, which aims to increase the amount of indigenous trees in Tanzania. Here you will prepare nursery beds, sow seeds, weed, trim, prune, and thin the trees. The seedlings you raise will later be distributed to local villages, at no charge. Depending on the season, participants may be assigned additional tasks, such as planting, collecting seeds, eliminating diseased trees, and checking the inventory of flora and fauna.
