Orphanage Tanzania Volunteer Placement
Options
- Full-time volunteer
- Internship
- Part-time volunteer
- Volunteer Only
HIV/AIDS, extreme poverty, and an overall lack of opportunities have lead to an overwhelming amount of orphans in need. Both the children and the administration itself would be grateful for any volunteers kind enough to lend their time. This is a great way to share your love and passion for children who need it the most.
Volunteers will teach English at the orphanage or local school for 3-4 hours per day. Those who do not wish to teach may care for the students who are not able to attend school. All volunteers will be responsible for the general well-being of the children, and will oversee brushing teeth, bathing, and other general hygiene practices. In the evening, you will organize activities for the children's free time, such as games, singing and dancing, and art classes. Participants also will monitor each child's academic practice and help with homework each night. In addition, volunteers will be responsible for assisting with administrative tasks, like cooking and gardening.
