Interning in Spain gives you much-desired international experience while perfecting your Spanish skills. In an ever more globalizing world, work experience in other cultures and knowledge of foreign languages will be more and more essential for your career.
Working in a Spanish company offers you the opportunity to get to know aspects of Spanish life, language and culture that you wouldn’t otherwise have access to. In Spain we can organize customized internships in companies covering most industries and professional sectors, such as International Business; Marketing; Management; Communications; Entrepreneurship; Consulting; Architecture; Broadcasting; Communications; Culinary; Dance; Education; Fashion; Health & Fitness; Government & Politics; Journalism; Information Technology; International Relations; Music; Performing Arts; Photography; Public Relations; Tourism... and many more.
Your application will be supported by a motivation letter which will help us place you in an organization where you can acquire experience relevant to your interests. The organization where you will be placed and the tasks you will perform will depend on your Spanish language skills, education and prior work experience. Please do bear in mind that there are many cultural differences between Spain and your home country and you will encounter unexpected situations. An open mind and flexible attitude is key to getting the most out of your international internship.
Work Schedule: Varies by placement. Approx. 20 hours/week Mon-Thurs.
Location of Placements: Various locations in Barcelona.
Lodging: Host family or apartment
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: High-Intermediate
- 8 weeks or longer includes two weeks of Spanish language classes. 6-8 weeks includes one week of Spanish language classes.
- Must submit resume in Spanish
Important Things to Consider:
- We recommend applying at least 4 months before you wish to start.
- Must be high intermediate when arriving to Spain or internship placement is cancelled and you receive 12 weeks of Spanish classes without a refund.
- Please note: Internships are not available in Barcelona in August. Any Monday September-April. Summer start dates 2012: 5/7, 5/21, 6/4, 6/18, 7/2.
- Must arrive on Monday in summer, during the year arrivals are flexible.
