State Hospital Mentor
Russia Internship Placement
This opportunity places you in the special rehabilitation program at the state hospital. The ward provides social and psychological help to orphans and neglected children, suffering from trauma, poisoning, and other various illnesses caused by lack of a permanent home and proper medical treatment.
As a mentor, interns will run phsyical diagnostics for the patients, as well as organize the rehabitlitation process. This may include developing programs to help socially integrate the children or providing education and entertainment.
Work Schedule: 30 hours per week.
Location of Placements: Moscow
Lodging: Homestay with private room and 2 meals or private room in shared apartmenrt with no meals during class. Apartment with no meals during placement.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Minimum commitment: 8 weeks.
- Minimum Russian level: Mid-Intermediate
- Tuberculosis screening.
- HIV test certificate.
- Diphtheria and Hepatitis certificates.
- Venereological and dermatological testing.
- Please apply at least 3 months in advance.
Important Things to Consider:
- Some college education is preferred, specifically in psychology or childcare.
- Relevant nursing experience (1-3 years) is preferred.
- The hospital reserves the right to examine all volunteers upon arrival, and administer additional vaccinations if necessary.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 1-2.
