Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with various organizations involved in the promotion and development of the underprivileged. Poverty is a big issue in the entire country; our aim is to spread awareness among the people and to give them more instruments to feel confident and free to decide for their future, and for the future of a new generation.
Some of the Projects would be:
- To organize a project to involve the community and promote awareness among the community about the Health & Hygiene issues
- To Educate the children to build a better and more conscious society
- To Spread awareness on Women's rights issues and social welfare
- Environmental issues
- Health & Medical Training
- Working with other NGOs in community service projects
- Assisting at Orphanages
Work Schedule: Varies, TBD on-site. Start Dates: 1/4, 1/18, 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 4/26, 5/10, 5/24, 6/7, 6/21, 7/5, 7/19
Location of Placements: Kathmandu and surrounding areas
Lodging: The participants will be staying in a volunteer center in shared bedrooms. All three meals are provided here. The food is generally traditional Nepali and is a variety of dishes made of rice with sauces and vegetables. Meat is also served, especially chicken. All participants are expected to be environmentally responsible and to use all resources with restraint, especially water, paper and electricity. You will be expected to clean up after yourself, and to play your part to keep the accommodation neat and tidy.

Important Things to Consider:
- There are local buses that take you to around Kathmandu, or you can take taxis to get around.
- There are several ATMs located in the city.
- The nearest Internet cafe is at a walking distance from the center.
- You can make International calls from the telephone booth located near the center.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of participants that this organization accepts is 15.

Optional meditation week can be substituted for a week of volunteering.
