Guanajuato Orphanage Mexico Volunteer Placement
This orphanage is a nongovernmental religious organization that provides custody and care for abandoned children or those suffering from extreme poverty. The orphanage, dependent entirely on the generosity of donators, provides food, shelter, and education for the children.
Volunteers will provide all elements of daily care for the children, including assisting with homework and maintaining the orphanage itself. In addition, participants will help organize events to raise funding and donation for the children.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m.
Location of Placements: Guanajuato
Lodging: Host family
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Mid-Intermediate
Important Things to Consider:
- The orphanage receives funding only from donations, so the resources may be very basic.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 3-5.
