Guanajuato Center for Urban Health Mexico Volunteer Placement
The health center,run by the Ministry of Health and Assistance, allows Guanajuato residents to receive free primary health care. They also provide basic health care information and promote health campagins such as child vaccination, anti-smoking awareness, and AIDS prevention. The center is actively involved in programs in primary and secondary schools to prevent STDs and unwanted teenage pregnancies.
Volunteers will participate in the center's health promotions, supporting doctors and nurses with the various campaigns that are run throughout the year. Participants may also organize disease prevention workshops and seminars with local youth.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m.

Lodging: Host family
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Mid-Intermediate

The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 3-5.
