Guanajuato Language School Mexico Volunteer Placement
The University of Guanajuato is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Latin America. Its educational activities began in the 18th century, teaching courses related to mining (an important economic activity of the time). Currently, the university maintains a high academic standing in all areas, in addition to having a successful foreign exchange program. This placement in particular is responsible for providing students with the elements and tools needed for language study. This is done through the use visual and audio materials, books, magazines, web links, etc. The class also incorporates guided conversation.
Volunteers are in charge of providing educational materials, administrative tasks, monitoring class conversations, and motivating students to speak in foreign languages outside of class as well.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m. or 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m.
Location of Placements: Guanajuato
Lodging: Host family with one meal or volunteer apartment with no meals, depending upon availability.
