This shelter is part of a non-governmental organization to assist woman and children who are victims of domestic violence. The shelter provides guidance, protection, and legal assistance in cases of mistreatment or abuse within the family. The center offers support and counseling to families, mothers, adolescents, and children, through meetings and workshops. Though the center is located in Guanajuato, it also organizes community service in the suburbs.
Volunteers will assist psychotherapists during sessions and develop and launch campaigns against domestic violence. In addition, participants will attend workshops on the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies among the teenage population.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m.

Lodging: Host family
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Mid-Intermediate
Important Things to Consider:
- A background in psychology or therapy is preferred, but not required.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 3-5.
