Guanajauto Community Outreach for At-Risk Children and Teenagers Mexico Volunteer Placement
The Municipal System for the Integral Development of Families (DIF) is a public organization which aims to provide comprehensive welfare services for the development of families within the state of Guanajuato. The DIF is targeted towards those most in need- women, children, and the elderly. They also hope to improve the community by creating better living conditions. This particular program develops activites to neutralize risk-taking behavior in children and adolescent girls, in efforts to improve their quality of life.
Volunteers will participate in developing diagnoses of children's and teenager's needs. You will also contribute to workshops and conference on such topics as addiction, teenage pregnancy, and children's rights.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
Location of Placements: Guanajuato
Lodging: Host family
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 21 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Mid-Intermediate
Other Comments:
The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 3-5.
