Give shelter, education and hope to those less fortunate at this orphanage. At this particular placement, volunteers primarily help orphans by teaching basic English. You will also organize extra-curricular activities such as singing, music, drawing, playing games, and more. This placement is perfect for volunteers passionate about helping others in need.
Volunteers will spend 3-4 hours per day teaching the children English, either at the orphanage or at a local school. You will also be responsible for helping the students ready themselves for school each day. This can include helping them dress and making sure they arrive safely. In addition, you will help arrange afterschool activities, sports matches, and tutoring sessions.
Work Schedule: 30-40 hours per week.
Location of Placements: Dehli, Japur
Lodging: Private room in orphanage.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 2 weeks.
- Minimum English level: Mid-Intermediate
- Minimum commitment: 2 weeks.
- Patience with young children.
- Flexible schedule.
Important Things to Consider:
- All volunteers must first study 1 week of Hindi (included in program)
- Volunteers will stay in the hostel with children.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of volunteers that this organization accepts is 3-5.
