The reproductive health clinic has more than 40 years of service in the health sector with an emphasis on sexual and reproductive health and a commitment to contribute to the development of Guatemalan society. It offers services in 29 clinics in 18 of the 22 departments in the country and carries out education and health activities through 3,500 voluntary promoters and 500 juvenile multipliers who provide a national coverage.
Volunteers with medical background (doctors, nurses, EMTs, medical students, etc.) can work or assist the staff of one of APROFAM’s locations. Most common activities are assistance with the external consultation and working in the clinic.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-6:00pm.
Location of Placements: Antigua
Lodging: Homestay or volunteer residence in Antigua.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: High-Intermediate
- Medical background is necessary, med students accepted.
- Flexible volunteers with ability to work with limited resources.
