Teach English Ghana Volunteer Placement
Options
- Full-time volunteer
- Internship
- Part-time volunteer
- Volunteer Only
There is a great demand for English speakers in Ghana, especially among the younger generation. Yet quality instruction is not available in most public schools. Native English speakers are needed in government (public) schools to assist local teachers in language classes. With your help, students can create a longlasting impact in their community and open the doorway to better career opportunities.
Volunteers will mainly work as English teachers but may also be called upon to teach other subjects, such a smath, science, and sports in primary schools (ages 5-10) or junior secondary schools (ages 11-16). Whether teaching the class themselves, or acting as a teacher's assistance, the participant's main goal will be to improve comprehension and pronunciation. The headmaster of the school will provide teaching materials, but volunteers are encouraged to bring additional materials they feel may be helpful.
