The principal objective of this organization is to provide translation services for international "Godparents" who adopt Ecuadorian children. Godparents provide money for education, food and clothing. The Godparents often send letters to their adopted child in Ecuador and they rarely are in Spanish.
Volunteers assist in translating the letters to Spanish. Usually the letters arrive in English and also German, French and Dutch.
Work Schedule: Varies. Usually 5 hours/day Monday-Friday.
Location of Placements: Quito
Lodging: Hostal (shared room, no meals). Homestay available at extra cost.
Requirements:
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Minimum commitment: 4 weeks.
- Minimum Spanish level: Mid-Intermediate
- Related experience and interest.
- Knowledge of English and Spanish as well as French, German and/or Dutch.
Other Comments:
The maximum number of participants that this organization accepts is 2.
