Costa Rica has some of the most beautiful flora and fauna in the world. The Costa Rican government has established the national parks to help protect some of the most precious areas of land for people to enjoy for many years to come. When the Ministry of Environment recuperates a wild animal that was illegally taken from the forest by a civilian, they send the animal to this
center. They have deers, raccoons, coyotes, monkeys, tucans, macaws and other parrots. Their goal is that some of these animals can go back to live in the forests.
General duties for all national parks include: trail and facility maintenance, construction, helping in the entrance and taking care that the park is respected by the tourists. Specific duties for this placement: hands-on work with rescued animals. Volunteers and other park staff care for the animal while it is in the shelter and prepare it for release into the wild.
