Great Travel Abroad Contest

AmeriSpan announces the Great Travel Abroad contest as part of their "Study Abroad Push It Forward" campaign. This innovative study abroad and travel contest allows players to virtually race around the world to win prizes. Players earn points for sharing, liking, posting, subscribing, linking, commenting and blogging travel and study abroad stories, tips and advice.  Points will help you "travel around the world".  The more points you accumulate the more chances you will have in 2 random drawings where dozens of prizes will be awarded. Each point is like a raffle ticket so if you have 5 points, you have 5 chances to win in each drawing.

The Grand Prize is a $1000 AmeriSpan gift certificate which can be used towards any AmeriSpan study abroad program. Other prizes include an iPod Touch, several Kindles, a Flip Video, language-learning aids, travel gear and more AmeriSpan Gift Certificates.  Everyone who accumulates enough points will receive gift certificates from $10-$200 which can be used like cash towards any AmeriSpan program.  "We wanted to structure the contest in such away where anyone who puts forth a small effort gets something and it also increases their chance to win, commented Beth Lieberman, AmeriSpan's Vice President.

The contest is part of AmeriSpan's "Study Abroad Push it Forward" campaign. Previously, AmeriSpan launched their Study Abroad Fundraising program to help people raise funds to study abroad.  Study Abroad Fundraising participants receive an account to easily solicit donations, track donations and identify donors. In addition, AmeriSpan hosts each fundraiser's personal story on their website and works with each to increase their fundraising potential.

AmeriSpan co-founder, John Slocum summarized AmeriSpan's view by saying, "In today's connected world we are trying to use AmeriSpan's presence in travel and study abroad to share advice, stories and connect with eachother.  Our fundraising program and the Great Travel Abroad contest are both structured to accomplish this".
