Marbella II (Alboran) Summer Camp

From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals and castles are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars. Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.

Known as the jewel of the Costa del Sol, this resort town is located about an hour south of Malaga on the Mediterranean coast. The small curvy streets and white washed colonial-style buildings make Marbella a picturesque vacation spot. There are many boutiques, shops and restaurants in town as well as along the beach.

Course Descriptions, Videos & More

School Facilities: Marbella Alboran Summer Camp is located on a beautiful finca. The camp is 13 miles from the center of Marbella and a short ride from the Hotel Don Carlos and the city’s General Hospital. It is also just a short 15-minute walk to the beach. The camp’s central building houses the dormitory rooms, a dining hall and a residential area for counselors and coaches. Sports facilities include: a large swimming pool, multipurpose sports area, 2 soccer fields, paddleball court, handball court and two stables. There is also a newsstand, game hall and large farmhouse that accommodates a variety of activities.

Participants are housed in dormitory rooms shared with 8 to 12 students. At least one counselor sleeps in each bedroom. The shower house is set apart from the residence hall. All meals are provided in the school’s dining halls and/or cafeteria.

Activities/Excursions: Participants will have a range of afternoon and evening activities free of charge to choose from including: many sports activities (soccer, basketball, volleyball), recreational activities (treasure hunts, camp discos, music shows) and cultural workshops (cooking, theatre, dance & journalism). Weekend excursions are also included in the program. Activities available for an additional charge include tennis, horseback riding, paddleball, golf and swimming lessons.

Lodging & Meals: Dormitory, 3 meals/day

Supervision: This summer camp program is a very structured program with many activities. Each day, free time is built into the camp schedule. However, most participants are not able to leave the camp premises unaccompanied and must abide by camp staff rules and regulations pertaining to lights out, policies and procedures, etc. There will be a camp counselor available for every group of 10 to 12 students. The counselor will remain with the group on a 24-hour a day basis and will take care of any individual needs each participant may have. There are three different camp options in Marbella. Campers are grouped by age. Daily schedule is about the same, facilities and locations vary.
