Paris I Independent Teen

France is world-renowned for its rich history and spectacular cuisine. The landscape ranges from the high cliffs and rocky beaches in the north, to the resorts of the Riviera in the south. France’s beautiful countryside is abundant with vineyards and farms. Cosmopolitan cities and quaint towns make France a diverse country ripe in culture and charm.

Nicknamed “the City of Lights,” Paris is truly one of the world’s most beautiful cities. The Seine River runs through this capital city, which is made up of 20 districts or “Arrondissements”. Each Arrondissement has its own character and meaning for Parisians. The art, music, theatre, fashion, literature and architecture of Paris make this location a mecca for travelers from all over the world.

School Facilities: The school occupies the whole second floor of a typical Parisian building, located in the heart of Paris, near the Opera, the Louvre museum, the Pompidou Center, Notre-Dame cathedral and the famous Parisian shops. It has 20 sunny and spacious classrooms, a cyber-café with free Internet access and a cafeteria. Students will have a shared room with two measl/day provided by the host family.

Activities/Excursions: Organized activities are offered a couple times per week for an additional cost and may include visit to the Louvre or a boat trip down the Seine. All activities are conducted in French. Weekend excursion may be offered about once a month to destinations like the Loire Valley and Disneyland for an additional cost.

Lodging & Meals: Homestay with 2 meals/day

Supervision: Please note although this program will accept teenagers ages 17-18 this is an UNSUPERVISED program. This program is for mature, independent teens that understand along with their parents/guardians that little supervision is provided and that all teens will be treated like mature, independent adults by school staff and host families. In our opinion, Paris is the best location for an independent teenager program to learn French. It is Paris after all, with lots of fun things to do and great cultural opportunities for mature teenagers.

To/From School: Participants travel unaccompanied either via walk or public transportation.
