Universidad Antonio de Nebrija

Founded in 1985, the university has two campuses. Study abroad students study at the more central campus, which is located in Dehesa de la Villa, a university neighborhood known for the preservation of its great park. It is well connected to downtown and other parts of city, with public buses and a metro station. The university services around 2,800 students per year, 500 of which are international students.
Intensive Spanish courses are offered throughout the year, in both summer and semester programs. Students also have the option to take electives in Spanish and English from various concentrations. Generally those students in lower to intermediate language levels will take Spanish courses in addition to English electives. Those students who place into advanced levels may be able to enroll in the Spanish electives with other international students or regular courses with Spanish students.

Facilities

The campus is about 20 minutes from downtown, in a nice neighborhood called Dehesa de la Villa. It is a 10-minute walk to the metro and buses pass regularly. There are both large and small classrooms, equipped with computers for students to use. Study abroad students also have access to the computer room, library and cafeteria, which serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Participants

Mostly North American, but also a high percentage of European, Asian and Brazilian.

Accommodations

Students have the option of living with Spanish families in homes throughout Madrid. Living with a host family provides one of the most efficient ways to practice Spanish. Students are included in all family activities, providing integration on a social and cultural level.
SStudents may also choose to live in shared or private room (additional cost) in a fully-furnished student apartment or dorm located near campus. Please inquire for prices.
