School Facts
This 12 week semester program is a unique mix of high quality academics and cultural immersion. Our College Semester Abroad program in Taormina is designed for students of all Italian language levels; whether just beginning to learn Italian or seeking to advance their acquired skills. In addition to the mandatory Italian language courses, students have the option of enrolling in electives (taught in Italian or English) focusing on Italian arts and culture. During the semester, students will spend a sufficient amount of time both in and outside the classroom by participating in many excursions and lectures at nearby sites. This is meant to enhance the students learning by providing them with a “hands-on” experience. Essentially what students learn in the classroom is then brought to life. It is important to note that students will be taking classes at the language school where our Italian language immersion program is also held. Italian language courses will combine U.S. students gaining academic credit with students of all ages and backgrounds. Elective classes are for university students only. All courses have a maximum of 10 students per class.
University FacilitiesThe school is housed in a four-story 19th century building which faces the community tennis courts, the lush public gardens, the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna.
