Universidad de Belgrano

The community of Universidad de Belgrano consists of approximately 14,000 students and offers month, summer, semester and year language programs for international studies that run parallel to the University's own curriculum for Argentinean students. This institution offers not only excellent Spanish language courses but a nice variety of Spanish and English electives with a focus on Latin American culture.

Students have the option of enrolling in Spanish or English electives only or pairing them with Spanish language courses. Students are given a placement test upon arrival to the program in order to determine their language proficiency. The exam will indicate which courses the student is eligible for. Generally those students in lower to intermediate language levels will take Spanish courses in addition to English electives. Those students who place into advanced levels may enroll in the Spanish electives with other international students or regular courses with Argentinean students.

Belgrano also offers cultural activities and excursions for international students to participate in.

Facilities

The university is located in Belgrano, a relaxing and distinguished residential area of Buenos Aires. Belgrano offers corner cafes, theaters, bookstores, and several bars and restaurants. Campus is only a few minutes away from downtown.

Participants

The majority of students are degree seeking Argentinean students. The study abroad students are mostly from U.S. and Europe.

Accommodations

Students have the option of living with Argentinian families in homes throughout Buenos Aires. Living with a host family provides one of the most efficient ways to practice Spanish. Students are included in all family activities, providing integration on a social and cultural level.

Students may also chose to live in shared or private room (additional cost) in a fully-furnished student apartment located near campus. Please note the apartments do not include meals.
