Medical Portuguese Program Overview
The Brazil SALUD program is four weeks and includes: 2 weeks of classes with 20 hours group Portuguese classes per week (max 6 students per class), 5 hrs medical Portuguese vocabulary, 10 hours of lectures on Brazilian healthcare topics, private room with a host family, breakfast and dinner daily with host family, cultural activities, 2 full day excursions, and a 2 week service learning placement in a hospital or clinic.

Requirements
Your Portuguese level must be Mid-Intermediate or higher. This program is open to the following: 1st year Med Student, 2nd year Med Student, 3rd year Med Student, 4th year Med Student, EMTs, Nurses, Physician Assistants, Pre-Med students.

It is the state capital of Alagoas and is best known for its tropical lagoons and beaches. Because Maceio is largely undiscovered by foreign tourists, it is a great destination for language students.
