Information about Granada, Spain (Click to view)
This Andalusian city of 260,000 inhabitants is situated in southern Spain among the snow-covered mountains of the Sierra Nevada, the desert landscape of Tabernes, and the beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol. It is also the third largest university city and exudes a lively atmosphere, from Flamenco in the streets to year-round cultural programs in music, dance, theater, and cinema. The Alhambra is here, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The city's southern-style Spanish architecture is as heavily influenced by the Moors as its way of life is influenced by Andalusian Flamenco and dance traditions.
From its dazzling beaches to its ancient castles, Spain is a country as diverse as the cultures which have influenced its art, architecture, music and lifestyle. It is a land where cathedrals and castles are interspersed with skyscrapers, where modern rock mixes with flamenco guitar, and night clubs compete with cozy "tapas" bars. Spain offers some of the world's most famous museums, resorts, and festivals, making it a unique and enchanting destination.
