Rio de Janeiro is known for it's Carnival celebration, its beautiful beaches and its beautiful people. While the tourism industry has always played a key role in Brazil’s economy, other industries such as automobile and petroleum production have contributed to the growing stability in this South American Giant. AmeriSpan offers this specialized, executive intensive Portuguese program for professionals who have a need to learn Portuguese for professional purposes. This is the FASTEST possible way to learn a language in a short period of time. Participants will take part in daily business lunches to improve their language skills outside the classroom, and will stay in Amerispan’s executive apartments to ensure maximum comfort so that you can focus all of your energy on learning Portuguese. This course is offered to professionals of all language levels and is available to start any Monday.

The second largest city in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro (pop. 10 million), is situated on the southeast coast of Brazil. The city is wedged between the mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Language travelers can have the best of both worlds in Rio. They can enjoy the big city atmosphere or relax on famous beaches such as Copacabana or Ipanema.
Originally colonized by Portugal, Brazil is by far the largest country in South America. It is a country diverse in culture, landscape, and style. The country is covered by dense Amazon rainforest in the north and central regions. The coastal regions of Brazil offer some of the most famous and beautiful beaches in the world. Each city in Brazil has its own unique character ranging from the modern capital of Brasilia to the tourist capital of Rio de Janeiro to the port city of Maceio. Portuguese is the language spoken in Brazil.
Participants: Mostly from the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. The age mix includes university students, professionals, and independent travelers. Also, English is taught to locals.
Other: The school is a renovated historic building located in the business center that has a central location to the historical center and other cultural locations (museums, etc). There are eight classrooms that are comfortably furnished and well-equipped, seating four students and one that holds ten. Internet access is available to participants via six computers for use in a section of the lobby/common area, along with a kitchen. Capacity 30 students/day.
