Taormina is perfectly situated to offer students easy access to the beautiful and historically important treasures of Sicily. With a strong vocation for tourism, Taormina offers many hotels, restaurants, bars, discos, entertainment and sports (windsurfing, scuba diving, mountain-biking, mountain-climbing, rafting, tennis and golf). For walkers, the surroundings of Taormina are a beautiful paradise. There are several trails leading down to the sea and up to the picturesque village of Castelmola. You can also climb to the top of the highest mountain in the area, Monte Venere, where one of the three Greek Venus temples is rumored to have been. Of course, the entire region is also known worldwide for its traditional food and the very particular type of rich red wine made from the grapes grown on Mount Etna, which is the largest active volcano in Europe.
Dive right into your experience in Taormina with our Italian and Diving courses. Allow yourself to be submerged in the Mediterranean Sea and lifestyle while enjoying Scuba lessons in its pristine waters. The Mediterranean offers a diverse mixture of dive adventures guaranteed to excite the novice and inspire the advanced. On a dive you can catch a glimpse of local aquatic life, explore the ruins of an ancient Roman shipwreck, or simply observe the striking white sponges and colorful coral. Multilingual PADI instructors offer certification to novice divers and additional instruction to advanced divers to hone their skills and techniques.
Depending on your diving skill level we offer two Italian and Diving programs from May-October as follows:
Italian and Beginners Diving - program is designed for those who have never dived and want to learn how to dive and experience the beauty of diving in Taormina. One afternoon session, equipment
included.
Italian and Diving in Sicily program designed for those who know how to dive and want to experience the beauty of diving in Taormina. Included 2 afternoons with 2 dives each afternoon (40' diving each).
Highlights:
- Beautiful location on the Bay of Naxos
- Different diving levels available
- Option of becoming PADI certified
Participants: International mix of students and professionals, most are Europeans with some US and Canadian students
Other: Elementary level of Italian REQUIRED
Program (included in tuition):
