Sorrento stands on a dramatic line of 150-foot cliffs, looking north across the Bay of Naples. It was originally a Greek village whose name was derived from the mythical song of the mermaids. Sorrento is a flower-filled town which draws thousands of national and international visitors. The small town center boasts an impressive cathedral, a Franciscan church with a distinctive 13th-century cloister, and many lovely seaside restaurants and cafes. Sorrento is a gateway to the romantic island of Capri as well as the historic city of Pompeii.
In addition to Italian language classes, this combination course offers both professional and beginner-level voice training. Professional courses cover techniques and interpretation of Italian opera and Neopolitan songs, voice laying, and breathing emission. Beginner classes enable future talents to develop their vocal and respiratory techniques through Italian and Neopolitan songs.
Participants: Mixed nationalities and ages. Independent travelers, college students, professionals.
