- Minimum Italian Level: Mid Intermediate (if zero, add 10-12 weeks of regular Italian before course)
Program (included in tuition):
- 4 hrs/day (20 hrs/wk) group classes (max 12)
- Additional 2 hrs/day (10 hrs/wk) private classes focusing on tourism vocabulary
- Shared room with host family

Florence’s renowned Renaissance art and architecture, its beautiful piazzas, elegant churches, and picturesque countryside make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. AmeriSpan offers the unique opportunity for Tourism Industry professionals and students to learn the Italian Language in relation to the Tourism Industry. Participants will analyze advertising materials, hotel forms, and newspaper articles to help identify the basic technical vocabulary and expressions commonly used in the Tourism Industry. Upon request, guided visits can be arranged to hotels, travel agencies, and popular tourist attractions in Florence. A minimum intermediate level of Italian proficiency is required for this program.
The group classes will cover general Italian using the communicative method. Your private classes will be tailored to your needs and can include specialized vocabulary, exercises and specific learning materials.

Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, is considered the heartbeat of the country with its breathtaking architecture and sculpture, cultural events and museums. The streets of Florence radiate the charm of Italian culture.
Known for its diverse regions, rich culture, and fabulous food, boot-shaped Italy possesses perhaps the most instantly identifiable physical shape of any country in the world. You can visit Roman ruins, gawk at Renaissance art, stay in tiny hill towns, ski the Alps, explore the canals of Venice, and see more churches than you can imagine. Naturally, you can indulge in the elementary pleasures of good food, improving your wardrobe, and seeking out "la dolce vita." From its beaches to its Alpine mountains, Italy vibrates with a special soul that is reflected in its people, music, and art.
Participants: International mix of students, most from USA, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Other: The school is situated in a beautiful historical palazzo with a magnificent view fo the Cathedral in the heart of downtown Florence, only a few minutes walk to most famous sights. The school facitilities include 18 classrooms, lounge area with snack, drink and coffee machines,
classroom with video facilities for film evenings, audio facilities along with free Internet access.

*Upgrade to private room in homestay or apartment: $100/week
