Sosua, Dominican Republic
Learning Spanish abroad in Sosua, Dominican Republic is one of many language immersion programs offered by AmeriSpan. Located on the north coast, about 20 kms east of Puerto Plata, Sosua is in a beautiful bay with sandy beaches great for sunbathing and swimming and is surrounded by amazing high coral cliffs. Through the past years it has become a popular resort town with much nightlife and quality restaurants. The main beach is Playa Sosua known for its golden-yellow sand. On one end of the beach is El Batey featuring residential streets, gardens, restaurants, shops and hotels, and on the other end Los Charamicos, the business and residential sector for the locals who work in Playa Sosua making this area a very traditional one.
Spanish & Surfing combines Spanish classes with windsurfing lessons. The Spanish lessons are held in Sosua; surfing classes take place in the near-by surfer’s paradise, Cabarete which is known as one of the best surfing areas in the world.
Participants: Mostly from Europe and the US. Average age 25-40.
Other: The group course for beginners provides you with all theoretical and practical knowledge needed to start surfing.
The advanced course is for those who want to fresh up their skills, who want to learn new things o for those who just want to get used to the unknown surf area.
Equipment will be provided in both cases.

The surfing classes meet 3 afternoons per week, for approximately 3 hours per day.
